Sequoia Crest

Peaceful trails through Giant Sequoias in Sequoia Crest

Note: all info and pictures are from before the Castle Fire. Approximately half of the cabins were lost in the fire.

Sequoia Crest is a small mountain community of about 100 cabins, nestled in the Alder Creek Giant Sequoia grove in the Sequoia National Monument. While some cabin owners live there year-round, the vast majority of cabins are used as vacation cabins. Many properties in Sequoia Crest include Giant Sequoia trees, some over 10 feet in diameter!

Located at the end of a county-maintained road that is plowed in the winter, Sequoia Crest offers a peaceful setting, gorgeous views of Giant Sequoias and Maggie and Moses Mountains, cool summers at about 6,600' elevation, and miles of trails for hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing. Sequoia Crest also houses the Stagg Tree (the 5th largest tree in the world), the Waterfall Tree (which has the largest circumference at ground level of any living Giant Sequoia), and Poppy Lake (a private pond that cabin owners are allowed to use) and is within hiking distance of Jordan Peak, Alder Creek, and other destinations. Sequoia Crest is a fantastic place to visit to see Giant Sequoias—many are located right along the side of road!

Community activities include a triathlon followed by a homeowner's meeting/BBQ/potluck over the Fourth of July weekend and a community potluck on Labor Day weekend.

Sequoia Crest has a community water system with fire hydrants, and satellite and cable TV and Internet are available.

This community and its breathtaking trees were featured in the Redwood Kings TV series and numerous commercials! The property around the subdivision was recently purchased by Save the Redwoods League.
